Cottage Bar
The Cottage Bar is a Grand Rapids institution, having been established in 1927 as a sandwich shop by Earl and Marie Coon and beginning the sale of alcohol in 1934 after the 1933 repeal of prohibition. This is the longest-standing liquor license in the city. Located in the Heartside-Downtown Neighborhood, the Cottage is a conveniently-located meeting place for before and after events at the Grand Rapids Civic Theater, Van Andel Arena, Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts, or any other downtown venue.
